ABOUT ALAN ROSE

Alan was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska, and grew up on nearby farms. In the late 1960s he journeyed forth to the big city and attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. Two years later he transferred to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he graduated with a BFA. Over the years Alan made a living by working in graphic design and freelance illustration. Most recently he was employed as the art director for a medical instrument manufacturer, a job he held for 17 years.

In 2007 Alan resigned from his art director position and returned to his passion, full-time painting. In addition to creating visual art, he has been honing his compositional skills by writing about himself in the third person.
